My name is Kimberly Wong-Harwood, and when I started teaching piano I was only looking for a way to earn some extra money and help serve the community. Little did I know that it would evolve into something this special!
I found so much joy and reward in helping students with their musical journey I knew I had found my calling. With an awesome reputation in my local community and lots of satisfied students I was on the right track.
Then Covid-19 hit and entire the world slowed down...
I had two choices. Accept it and put things on pause, or ... Adapt.
Providing interactive, one-on-one virtual music lessons was uncharted territory for my staff and me. We began this journey in March of 2020 and the results have been nothing short of amazing!
Teachers and students alike adapted quickly. Looking back...It went seamlessly. In fact, we grew beyond what we thought was possible!Â
Online lessons has opened up the door for a ton of new games and apps to engage students, leading to possibilities of short (10-15 min) weekend contests and virtual events to keep them excited and entertained throughout their musical journey!
Online lessons have also created more independence in students, leading them faster to where we want them to be as musicians at every stage.Â
Parents are telling us they prefer online lessons over in-person, but don't take my word for it...check out their stories below!
